ABOUT
Jowan Smith is the Author of Zakari Goes to College, Grandma Hattie's Ice Cream & Mya, Mya, Mya. As with her businesses, she uses her personal experiences to tell a story.
"Jowan Smith holds a bachelor's degree in Public Policy and Management as well as a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. With a 15-year career in media, she excelled in sales, public relations, voiceovers, and event planning. She then dedicated five years as a Caseworker for Cuyahoga County before following her passion for youth empowerment. After becoming a finalist in the Accelerate competition, Jowan launched Getting Our Babies to College 101, and a year later, she founded her nonprofit 1,000 Ties, supporting young men ages 10-17. Additionally, Jowan is a commercial model and voice actor for corporate training videos and commercials, further showcasing her diverse talents and dedication to community enrichment."
